B-17 42-30402 'The Poontang' crashed near Strausburg. Mechanical failure. Interned. He served as intelligence officer at the Pentagon for many years, until his retirement. When he was a child his father took him to see Charles Lindbergh take off on his solo flight, from that day on he was fascinated by flight.
Awards: AM (OLC), BS, PH, American Campaign, EAME (2BS), WWII Victory.
