Revisions
I am Earl Miller's older son, Ron Miller, Col., USAFR, MC (Ret.). I deleted the erroneous reference to the 331st Squadron and added the 333rd Squadron. For reference and confirmation, see the entries for all his crewmen.
If further confirmation is needed, I can send a photo of Dad's signature on the plaque in the B-17G that's currently being restored at the Champaign Air Museum, Urbana, Ohio. On that plaque, he included his Squadron (333) and Bomb Group as well as number of missions flown along with his signature.
I'm Earl's son, Ron Miller, Col. USAFR, MC (ret). Dad was in the 333rd Squadron, 94th BG, not the 331 as originally indicated here. I tried to correct that but got only so far as removing 331st BS when it proved impossible to add the 333rd BS. In his connections section, one can see all the members of his crew correctly identified as assigned to the 333rd
As he was promoted O-3 upon his assignment when he returned to the CONUS, I SUCCESSFULLY CORRECTED HIS "highest rank."
