Ed Ziemba
Picture taken somewhere in England in 1944.
Ed flew in 34 missions over German targets, with one mission over the synthetic oil plants in Merseberg resulting in his Fortress being hard hit with flak and the plane's co-pilot wounded. Ed was a proud member of the "Luckye Bastardes Club". Like the rest of the men with whom he served, Ed was a tough individual who did not view his combat time as heroic, but simply a job that had to be done.
