In the 1940 Census he is listed as living at Langley Field, Virginia; his occupation is listed as a Radio Operator in the U. S. Army Air Corps.

He re-enlisted for the Hawaiian Department on 19 September 1945 from Baer Field, Fort Wayne, Indiana. He enlisted as a Sergeant in the Air Corps; he had four years of high school education, was married and his civilian occupation was listed as: "Tinsmiths, coppersmiths, and sheet metal workers".

We have him listed as participating as a C-47 Radio Operator on five 437th flights: Mission Detroit on 06 June 1944; Mission Galveston on 07 June 1944; the Dragoon Movement in July of 1944; the re-supply and air evacuation Mission #49 in August of 1944 and Operation Varsity in March of 1945.

We also have him listed on HQ, 9th TCC GO 71 as receiving the third Oak Leaf Cluster (OLC) for his Air Medal.
