Enlisting 25 June 1942 in Omaha, NE, Lt. Donald E. Cannon flew with the 369th Fighter Squadron from 16 June 1944 through 14 June 1945 when he completed his combat tour of duty with the 359th Fighter Group. From Hebron, NE, Lt. Cannon was assigned to 76 combat missions. On six of those missions he either damaged or destroyed E/A on the ground.
