He reported to the ETO on 04 May 1943. He was the 95th officer to complete tour on 01 Feb 1944. Completed approx. 25 missions from 13 May 1943 to 29 Jan 1944. He departed the ETO on 04 Oct 1944.

11 April 1943 while in transit navigation problems led to a rough landing at Pembrokeshire as a horizontal stabilizer was lost. He completed 25 missions from March 1943 to October 1944. He lead the second element in the lead squadron in plane #720, 'Ta-Rez' on the 17 Aug 1943 mission to Schweinfurt.

In 1948 he became director of the Tacoma Little Theatre and was then Producer and Director for KTNT-TV. He was afterwards with Tacoma News-Tribune where part of his duties was to organize the Tacoma Soap Box Derby,
