March 23rd 1944 he was on the crew of Lee Seeman when their aircraft, 42-38046, was ditched in the North Sea off Aldeburgh, Suffolk after damage on a mission to Brunswick.  On July 3, 1944 returning from North Africa from a shuttle mission flown 21 June 1944 in B-17 #42-97698 when accident occurred with a landing gear collapse. 11 RTD .
