David Douglas Fisher
Military ROLL OF HONOUR"1/Lt. Willard L. Kreft reported: "Lt. Fisher was flying my wing during an engagement with E/A on Jan. 31, 1944. Lt. Fisher left my wing at one time, but later called me saying he was behind me. During some violent manoeuvring, I left the flight. When I rejoined, Lt. Fisher was in third position, and then followed me after a turn. Upon a call to form a defensive formation and head for the coast, our flight joined several other planes. A ship was following me and thinking it was Lt. Fisher I called to see if he was OK. There was no reply, and as he closed in, the markings disclosed that it belonged to another squadron. Lt. Fisher failed to return."
