Staff Sergeant Dale S. Brown was born April 1, 1922. His next of kin were his wife, Faye Brown, and his mother, Florence Brown. He was from Bonaparte, Iowa.

On December 31, 1944, his B-17, tail 43-38459, of the 100th Bomb Group, 418th Bomb Squadron, was shot down north of Emden, Germany. SSGT Brown was the only member of the crew to be killed in the crash.

He is buried at the US Military Cemetery at Neuville-en-Condroz, Belgium.
