Dale Miller served as a pilot with the 562nd Bomb Squadron of the 388th Bomb Group, flying missions out of Knettishall, England. On 29 April 1944, he was Killed in Action (KIA) when his aircraft was hit by heavy flak. His radio operator Reuel Boring was also killed. The aircraft was able to make it back to base.
