Crashed due poor weather into the North Sea near Lowestoft on a bomber escort mission to Berlin in P-47D "Lucky" (serial #42-8461, code HV*P). LT Stream was declared Missing in Action, and his name is inscribed on the Tablets of the Missing at Cambridge American Cemetery and Memorial. Awarded Air Medal with 2 Oak Leaf Clusters. CPT Robert S. Johnson described LT Stream as "probably the best young fighter pilot I've ever seen for both skill and courage."
