Clarence Landis Martin

Obituary: "Former Port Orchard resident Clarence L. Martin, 85, of Stevens, Penn., died Jan. 31, 2000, at the Stevens home of his daughter, Melissa Martin, of natural causes.
He was born in Lititz, Penn., to Philip and Emma (Landis) Martin.
Mr. Martin was a major in the British Royal Air Force, Eagle Squadron 121, during World War II. He later transferred to the United States Army Air Corps, stationed in Germany, receiving five bronze stars.
He last was a truck driver for 20 years by Lebanon Chemical Company in Lebanon, Penn. Previously, he owned and operated a trucking company. He retired in 1976, moving to Port Orchard.
He was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Congregational Church in Reamstown, Penn. and served as chaplain of the Eagle Squadron Association.
Survivors include two sons, C. Michael of Boothwyn, Penn., and Jere of Victorville, Calif.; two daughters, Kathi of Hopeland, Penn., and Melissa of Stevens; one sister, Annie Lausch of Lititz; four grandchildren; and two great-grandsons. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Henry and Albert. His wife, Kathryn (Fedesky) Martin, preceded him in death in 1997.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Good Funeral Home & Cremation Centre Inc. in Reamstown."
