Flew 8 missions November-December 1943. 24 December 1943, on return from mission, accident in landing B-17#42-39883 due to poor visibility. James Foley crew.



Shot down by fighters after falling out of formation on mission to Brunswick on 11 Jan 1944 in B-17F #42-5918 'Heavenly Daze', Prisoner of War (POW). Went through Dulag Luft, spent 16 months in Stalag Luft 1, Barth. Liberated by Russians. In Prisoner of War (POW) camps, organized softball team, "Wayman's Comedians".
