Charles Monroe McMillan Jr
MilitaryFlew one mission. 2LT Charles M McMillan joined the 614th Bomb Squadron in early April 1945 and flew B-17G SN 43-38565, 401st Bomb Group, Traunstein Mission #252, as pilot, on 18 April 1945. This was the first and last combat mission that Charlie flew in WW2. Only two additional missions were flown by the 401st B.G. in the ETO before VE day. Charles flew additional sorties to Linz, Austria in May 1945 to recover British and French POWs, before the 401st B.G. returned to the U.S. in June 1945.
