Carl E McClendon
Military ROLL OF HONOUR2nd Lieutenant Carl E. McClendon was born March 23, 1922, and was the son of Homer and Emma McClendon. His hometown was Guntersville, Alabama.
On July 20, 1944, he was serving aboard B-24 “Mizry Merchant,” tail #41-29560 when it ran out of fuel off Bawdsey, and crashed in the English Channel. LT McClendon was the only member of the crew to be killed.
He is buried in the Chattanooga National Cemetery in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
