Bruce H Ey
MilitaryCrashed at Liepe on 10/6/44 in B-17 #43-37548, Prisoner of War (POW). He later recounted the story of that fateful mission when they were hit by some 70 enemy fighters coming out of the sun. Their B-17 'Hell's Bells' was set on fire and the surviving crew bailed out. Bruce Ey was commissioned after the war retiring in 1971 with the rank of Lt. Colonel after 28 years service.
