He continued his service post war as a first day cover was offered for sale on Amazon with the following description: 'US Air Force pilot Brooks Liles, who had downed one enemy plane in World War II, earned ace status in Korea, downing 4 MIG 15s in his F-86 Sabre jet. In the 1990s, he served on a joint US-Russian commission to exchange information about each other's missing pilots from the conflicts in Korea and Vietnam.'
