Bob Hope is an Anglo-American Comedian. He embarked on USO Tours 1941 to entertain the troops and continued to perform for the USO in Korea, Vietnam, Lebanon, Iraq, Iran and the Persian Gulf War until 1991. During the Second World War he toured Army Air Force Bases in Britain. Through his 50 years of entertaining soldiers and civilians, Hope spent 48 Christmases overseas with service personnel. In 1997, US Congress honored Hope as the "first and only honorary veteran of the U.S. armed forces.".
