On May 30, 1944, coming into land after a misssion in his B-24 #42-52745 'Virgin Vampire' the plane in front of him was going to slow. After requesting the tower to tell them to speed up or move, with no response, the front plane landed and again was requested to speed up and get off the runway, it didn't and Lt. Majerus rear ended the front plane. Only 2 men on the front plane were injured.
