England - Two USAAF Officers of the Flying Fortress 'Male Call' [B-17 42-97471] kneel in the wind and rain beside the damaged plane which brought them safely back from attack by US Heavy bombers on Frankfurt - 20 May 1944. Chaplain Martin Collett of Carey, Ohio, invokes benediction on Lt's Brophy and Beckman. The Fortress crash-landed at the field when its undercarriage folded, yet the pilot and entire crew escaped uninjured.
