Reported to the ETO on 12 Mar 1943. He flew on Wesley Peterson crew. He completed 4 missions and was shot down on his 5th.

On a mission to Bremen with Lt. Theodore Jankowski, 17 April, 1943, a/c B-17 #425251 'Bodacious Critter. ' was severly damaged before reaching target, but made the bomb run where it was hit by flak. A bale out order was given in the Emden area and 7 survivors landed near Muhlberg. Plane crashed near Strackholt, Germany. Prisoner of War (POW) imprisoned at Stalag Luft 3 and moved to 49-11 near Nuremberg.
