Ben Clarkson Michener

Deployed to England 25 November, 1942. At Mount Farm air base, participated in recon mapping of occupied Europe. Returned to U.S. in October, 1943 to train photo recon officers.
Subsequently was assigned to the 8th Photo Recon group stationed in India, mapping Japanese positions in Burma and China. Returned to the States after Japanese surrender, and was discharged on 20 January, 1946.
Hired as an engineer by Eastman Kodak where he worked on the Corona project, the program that developed America's first spy satellite. He designed high-resolution film used by the satellite as well as by the space program, including the lunar landing missions.
