Flew 3 1/2 years with the RCAF. Had 12 Combat Missions in Aleution Islands against the Kapson Kiska. Joined the 4th FG in August 1944. Assigned to 335FS. Flew 38 combat missions over France and Germany. On escort/strafing mission his P-51D #44-14435 hit trees whilst strafing road transports, crashed Maberzell, Germany. POW. 21-Feb-45. MACR 12596. Was held in Stalaf Luft VII/A Moosburg.



Awards: AM (3 OLC), PH, POW, WWII Victory, EAME and Pacific Campaign Medals. British Star 1939-45, Korean War Service Medal, United Nations Korean War Service Medal.



Post War: After a AT-6D refresher instructor pilot course Oct-45, served as AT-6D instructor pilot from April till Sept 46 in Texas.

Ops Officer Mitchell Field, NY from Sep-46 to Jun-52.

Installations Engineer, 8th FBW, FEAF HQ FOS Itazuke AFB, Japan.

Retired USAF 1956.

1957-59 C-46 pilot for Capitol airlines Washington, DC.

1960-63 Worked for New Jersey Division of Motor Vehicles.
