Shot down 14 October 1943 in B-17 #4230175. Prisoner of War (POW)in Stalag 17b and work camp 48-15. Earlier on April 1943 flight in transit on B-17 42-29505 had emergency landing that was rough so horizontal stabilizer lost. 1 crewmember was killed.
