Aldo Bottegal
MilitaryOn 11 December 1942 Aldo entered the service from Fort Benjamin Harrison, Indiana, as a private in the Signal Corps. He had two years of high school education, was single, without dependents and his civilian occupation was listed as: "Semiskilled chauffeurs and drivers, bus, taxi, truck, and tractor".
It should also be noted he had no middle name, therefore 'no middle initial' (or "NMI" as the US Army characterized it).
We have Private Bottegal listed on the 437th TCG Special Orders #195, dated 27 December 1943. These were the orders generated at Pope Field (Fort Bragg, NC) for the first phase of movement by air and by rail of the 437th personnel to their eventual overseas deployment. He was a member of the 437th TCG Association and was listed on their rosters from 1974 until 1994. He attended at least one reunion.
