Albert P Sulak

Hill County native Albert Sulak didn’t wait to be drafted in World War II. He volunteered to join the U.S. Army Air Corps. Trained as a mechanic, he served as a ball turret gunner and engineer on B-17 bombers that flew out of Bury St. Edmunds, England. He returned home after 31 missions over Northern Europe. Primarily flew on B-17 #42-97268 'Million Dollar Baby'. Harvey Vest, Pilot. Returned from mission to Berlin on 18 Apr 1944 in which 4 a/c were lost from sqdrn and 10 lost from group.
