Was on a carpetbagger mission, flak hit the plane in the navigator's dept,also severing the rudder controls. The crew were not wearing parachutes and Lts. Nicoll and Davis and Sergeant Brewer had no time to put them on and went down in the B24 whichcrashed at Bernieres-le-Patry, 6 miles SE of Vire about 30 miles SW of Caen, Normand FranceKilled in Action (KIA)
