Abner Hardin Posey
MilitaryAbner Hardin Posey enlisted in the Army Air Force on 23-Jan-42. After graduating from flight school he was assigned as a pilot with the 340th Bomb Squadron, 97th Bomb Group based in Africa and Italy in August of 1943. He flew 26 missions with the 97th before transferring to the 305th Bomb Group in England.
He flew another 13 combat missions over Europe with the 305th, for a total of 39 missions.
Awards: DFC, AM (4OLC), WWII Victory, EAME (2 x Battle Stars).
