IMAGERichard Caserio was killed by a bullet from another USAAF aircraft and died in the arms of his friend Paul Akin. His last words to Paul were to ask him to convey to his family that he loved them. Paul was unable to contact his family but, after many years, his Son in Law, Brad Stuart, was able to fulfil Richard`s final wish. In turn the family of Richard Caserio provided him with this picture which Brad has passed to me and it is my privilege to immortalise him on the American Air Museum in honour of his sacrifice.
