The Prosper Pinto Crew were aboard on 27 March 1944 when after experiencing engine trouble after takeoff, the attempted to turn around in a thick overcast and return to base. As many aircraft were still climbing out through the fog and cloud, this proved fatal. They collided with the Robert L. Mogford Crew flying B-24H-15-CF #41-29364. All 20 men on both planes were KIA. This aircraft came down near Northall Green, Norfolk.
