386th BG, 554th BS, B-26 crew of Lt. Donald B. Wren, "CLOUD HOPPER II" aircraft number 4131763 The attached JPG file of the B-26 Wren Crew Photo was taken sometime prior to the last mission of my Uncle Sgt Angelo M. Staffo on May 31, 1944. The crew members names in the photo are as follows: First Row - (Kneeling left to right) Sgt Steve Tirpac (Waist Gunner and Radio Operator) Sgt Angelo M. Staffo (Tail Gunner) Sgt. Calagero Scabarisi (Turret Gunner) This photo was taken right after returning from a mission and he had just been relieved from combat duty and his wings taken away as he was unable to handle the stress and froze up in combat. Back Row - (Standing left to right) Lt Donald B. Wren (Pilot) Lt. Uriah W. Miller (Co-Pilot) Lt Miller was KIA on the 05/31/44 mission when his parachute failed to open. Lt. William Senior (Bombardier) Lt Senior did not fly on the 05/31/44 mission because he had been wounded in action on an earlier mission when enemy fire hit the plexiglass nose cone and the flying debris injured his eyes. On the 05/31/44 Mission Sgt T. J. Yates was the Toggilier, and Sgt D. E. Mitchell was the Turret gunner.
