Airspeed Horsa glider LJ135, assigned to 437th TSC, 8AF USAAF. Pilot F/O Richard G Mercer and Co-Pilot 1st Lt George Parker from the 86th Troop Carrier Squadron at the controls, crashed horrifically at Holdy near Ste Marie du Mont killing 15 of the 25 passengers, injuring the remainder 7-Jun-44.
