29 January 1945 | 29 January 1945: The Group flies an escort to Seigen, leaving the bombers in the Giessen area. The pilots then strafe, claiming 3-1 locos, 0-87 rail cars, 6-2 vehicles, and 0-3 barges. Lt. Daniels inadvertently strafes a U.S. position near Ingwiller. He makes three passes in spite of warnings from the troops, then they open fire and he crashes near Bouxwiller. | |
