Serial number 42-98998 was manufactured during the third week of January 1944. Crated and shipped from the New York Port of Embarkation, it arrived in the U.K. on 5 April. Assigned to the Ninth Air Force, records further indicate that it remained in England until December, 1945 when it was transferred to Continental Europe, still with the 9th Air Force. Diverted to Army Ground Forces in February 1947, its service was terminated in Germany in March, 1951. Roger Freeman Collection
