Crashed

11 July 1944 While forming up for mission, unknown mechanical problem caused fire in left wing. Aircraft exploded shortly after, ejecting some crew members (3 KIA, 6 RTD) and spreading wreckage along approx five mile strip from RAF Watton to Saham Toney. One engine landed vic RAF Watton, tail rudder section landed in field near Saham Toney village. B-24 aborted takeoff at RAF Watton after being hit by debris.

Failed to Return (FTR)

Germany 11 April 1944 Knocked out of formation by heavy flak over Hannover. Jettisoned bomb load. Five of crew bailed out (4 POW, 1KIA), but pilots regained control of aircraft and returned to England (5 RTD) landing badly damaged aircraft at RAF Ludham. Escorted back to England by P-47D fighter (E9:Z) of 374th FS 361st FG.
