Delivered Denver 21/12/43; Gr Island 24/1/44; Assigned 336BS/95BG [ET-F] Horham 6/2/44; 11m, caught fire and ditched on Air Sea Rescue mission 22/4/44 with Capt. Perry L. Huie (RTD,co-polit Lt. William Y. Stterfield, along with seven survivors); Waist gunner: Joseph E. Roderick, Waist gunner: Charles S. Smiley (2 Killed in Service); fire broke out in cockpit and forced to ditch off Ostend, Bel; picked up by RAF Walrus which taxied back to UK; Missing Air Crew Report 4263. LIBERTY SHIP.
