Delivered Vandalia 26/10/43; Assigned 569BS/390BG [CC-M] Framlingham 23/12/43; (42m) mission to Ruhrland with Bob Ratcliffe 21/6/44, landed Kiev to refuel, on leaving Poltava 28/6/44 bad weather caused it to land Teheran, on to Cairo 29/6/44 then landed at Tripoli picking up five P-51 mechs as passengers, on to Casablanca 3/7/44, with Ratcliffe, Co-pilot: John Walters, Navigator: Don Sweeney, tog-Chas Marston, Flight engineer/top turret gunner: JulesMiller, Radio Operator: John Manfrin, Ball turret gunner: Jim Barndollar, Waist gunner: Bob Rubin, Waist gunner: Ray Schumacher,Tail gunner: Edwin Lucey, pass: Sgts Chester Wall, Paul Fox, Milton Kosmoski, Howard Kehrer and Joe Waydak assigned St Mawgan, Corn. 9/7/44, off course only to crash landed Towyn, Merioneth. Wales, hitting an air raid shelter and into railway track, suffered Cat E damage, however all 15 men safe. Salvaged.
