Crashed after loss of control in prop wash 1 miles N of Girton, Cambridgeshire on 31 July 1944. Pilot Capt Robert W. Adams bailed out safely, but navigator 1Lt Robert P. Briffett, gunner SSgt George E. Mattingly and gunner SSgt Stephen McDowell were killed.
