Believed flown from Rapid City across to Nuthampstead, England by Lt Charles J. Searl and crew. The aircraft was named after Searl's hometown of Tomahawk, Wisconsin, but was re-assigned to the 381st, a few days after arriving at Nuthampstead with the 398th BG.
