Asigned as replacement crew. Prisoner of War (POW). 17 August 1943 in B-17 #42-5712 'My Prayer' on mission to Schweinfurt, Germany, A/C attacked by fighters. With A/C afire, 7 of the crew bailed out near Frankfurt. Pilot Judy, Copilot Lays and Engineer Cherry stayed with the A/C and landed on the grass at RAF Manston, Kent.
