My grandfather was J.B. Latham, the co-pilot of 42-97465, a B-17 that was shot down near Gydnia, Poland, on April 9, 1944. He spent the next 13 months in Stalag Luft I. After he retired from the Air Force, he moved to Grants Pass, Oregon. He died in 1991.
