Lt. Howard P. Maree joined the 351st Fighter Squadron/353rd Fighter Group on August 1, 1944 and flew until March1945. Maree flew first a P-47D "Liberty Run" and then transitioned into the P-51's. On January 14, 1945, Maree destroyed two German aircraft in one of the most successful days the squadron had during the war.
