Staff Sergeant Anthony F. Fox was born August 30, 1914. His next of kin were two aunts, Helen Dunn, and Katherine Hoerning. He was from Newark, New Jersey.

He was serving as a gunner aboard “Forget Me Not II,” B-17 tail 42-3180, of the 381st Bomb Group, 533rd Bomb Squadron, when it went down over the North Sea on October 9, 1943, returning from a mission to Anklam, Germany.

His remains were never recovered.
