Eugene D Fava

Military ROLL OF HONOUR

Eugene Fava was killed in action on 27 May 1944, on a mission to Karlshuhe, Germany. Shortly after bombs away his aircraft: B-17 42-102475 collided with another and reportedly broke in half. Surviving crew members believe he may have been knocked unconscious as a result of the collision and was unable to escape.

Fava's remains were recovered, along with those of 7 other members of his crew, by Germany authorities after his aircraft had crashed, and he was given a temporary burial in Stein.

Fava is buried at Lorriane American Cemetery, in France.
