Transferred to Group HQ as Group Operations Officer on SO #38 dated 28 June in the shakeup following the loss of Group Deputy CO Major Selden MacMillin who was MIA on the 26 June mission. 
Appointed to an AIRPLANE ACCIDENT COMMITTEE per AAF Station 106 Special Orders #114 dated 10 October 1943. 
Resumed command of 544th Bomb Squadron on 20 October 1943 vice Major William F. Gilmore, per AAF Station 106 Special Order #123 dated 20 October 1943. 
Placed on seven days Temporary Duty to the 8th Air Force Officers Rest Home, Stanbridge Earls, Hampshire (a Flak House) on or about 24 January 1944 per AAF Station 106 Special Orders #14 dated 21 January 1944. 
Appointed as a member of a Flying Evaluation Board, to meet at the call of the President to act on such cases as might be referred to it by these headquarters (384th Bombardment Group) per AAF Station 106 Special Orders #25 dated 6 February 1944 and amended per Station Special Orders #26 dated 7 February 1944. 
Placed on seven days Temporary Duty to 8th Air Force Officers Rest Home, Stanbridge Earl, Hampshire (a Flak House) on 24 June 1944 per AAF Station 106 Special Orders #121 dated 24 June 1944. 
Placed on Special Duty with Headquarters Detachment, 384th Bomb Group per AAF Station 106 Special Orders #156 dated 4 August 1944. 
Succeeded as Squadron Commander by Major Gerald B. Sammons on 14 September 1944 per 544th Bomb Squadron Unit History.
