Warsaw, NC, USA | 3 December 2007 | Mr. Samuel Erastus Godwin, age 87, of Warsaw, died Monday, December 3, 2007, at home. Funeral services will be held today, December 5 at 11:00 a.m. from Warsaw Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Henry Swanzy. Burial will follow in Devotional Gardens in Warsaw. Mr. Godwin was a veteran of World War II, having served as a B24 Bomber pilot in Europe. He received a distinguished flying cross for his service. He was also a charter member of the Warsaw Jaycees and a former mayor of Warsaw. |
