Brick, NJ | 12 October 2010 | PETER J. BRENNAN AGE: 92 Peter J. Brennan, 92, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2010, at Ocean Medical Center, Brick. Mr. Brennan was a battalion chief for the Northern Manhattan District of the FDNY. He served in the Army Air Force during World War II, serving as a bombardier and completing 33 missions. Peter was an active communicant of St. Luke's Church, Toms River. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be greatly missed by all. Mr. Brennan is predeceased by his wife, Ann, in 1995. Peter is survived by his five children, Joseph Brennan, Joanne Rose, Patricia McCormack, Andrew Brennan and John Brennan; and 10 grandchildren. Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 14 at the D'Elia Funeral Home, Route 70 and Vermont Avenue, Lakewood. A Funeral Mass will be held at 9:15 a.m. Friday, Oct. 15 at the St. Luke's Church, Toms River. Interment will take place at Ocean County Memorial Park, Toms River. |

Unsure if this is under Pilot Oliver Smith or John Edelman. My grandfather, Peter Brennan, togglier in the 388th Bomb Group in the 561st Squadron in the 8th Air force.
My grandfather was awarded with 3 separate honors in his WWII tour.

My grandfather was a togglier in the 388th Bomb Group, 561st Squadron. His first 10 missions were flown on the Oliver Smith, missions 11-33 flown on the John Edelman.
