Parrish John Reynolds
MilitarySgt Parrish Reynolds was waist gunner on pilot Charles L. Duncan's "Judy E" - 42-30050, shot down by fighters over Dieppe, France 10 July 1943. He was replacing Sgt Clifford R. Starkey - later shot down on 17 August 1943 on B-17 42-5867. Reynolds managed to evade capture and was helped by French citizens in the Longueville-sur-Scie area until it was liberated by Canadian forces on 5 September 1944. He was back in England on 6 September. Escape & Evasion Report E&E 1559. His VA BIRLS Death record has his birth date as 11 May 1923; his E&E 1559 has wrongly just "11 June ?" (sic); his NARA WWII Enlistment records have 1923 as the year of his birh, but his tombstone in Nicholasville, Kentucky, has Parrish John Reynolds 11 May 1922- 22 July 1993.
