The B-24D named, The Little Gramper, (RR-B+) was the B-24D Liberator, 42-40722, from the 8th Air Force, the 389th Bomb Group, and the 566th Bomb Squadron that flew on Operation Tidal Wave. 1 Aug 43. The aircraft was transferred to the 491st Bomb Group for use as the formation assembly ship. May 15,1944
