On 29 September 1942, when the Eagle Squadrons became part of the 4th fighter Group they were re-designated as the following: No. 71 (Eagle) Squadron became the 334th Fighter Squadron, No. 121 (Eagle Squadron became the 335th Fighter Squadron, and No. 133 (Eagle) Squadron became the 336th Fighter Squadron. Their respective Commanding Officers are, L-R: Major G. A. Daymond, 334th; Major C. W. McColpin, 336th; and Major W. J. Daley, 335th.
